Seven Sisters, One Warning is a poetic and urgent environmental documentary that explores the deteriorating beauty of the Seven Sisters cliffs, threatened by coastal erosion, plastic pollution, and human neglect. At the heart of the film is Warmnorm, the passionate founder of the Green Socks Movement, who has spent over six years cleaning beaches and preserving local biodiversity.
Blending observational documentary with essayistic narration, the film reflects on how one individual’s persistence can inspire collective action. Through intimate visuals, diegetic sound, and grounded storytelling, it captures the fragility of the coastline and the resilience of those fighting to protect it.
This is not just a film about the environment, it’s about responsibility, representation, and how proximity builds purpose.
I directed, shot, edited, and narrated this project as part of my final dissertation film. I also participated directly in the beach-cleaning efforts alongside the Green Socks team, and have since joined the movement to continue supporting their mission. This film is a deeply personal reflection of my journey as a filmmake, one that merges authorship, activism, and empathy.
